Beautifully elegant and food-friendly, this 2018 Napa Carneros Pinot Noir is sourced from a really nice vineyard in the Carneros hills. The producer is the same winery as the Lot 174 Russian River Valley Chardonnay and they shoot for a prettier expression of both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. These are both perfect for warm summer months refreshment and both are decidedly food-friendly with good acidity and freshness. The Pinot weighs in at just 13.6% alc.
Lot 191 is extremely limited as we have less than 10 cases left.
Deep garnet in the glass. The aromas are almost fully-knit together as the wine approaches two-months in bottle with black cherry and wild strawberry aromas haloed with rose petals and dried herbs. Soft and silky on entry with pretty red fruits arrayed over mineral-laced tannins that have excellent length. This Pinot has a terrific, elegant structure and, being a 2018, is drinking great now and will grow even more nuanced over the next 5-7 years.
If you are looking for a medium-bodied, pretty and elegant Pinot, I believe you will find this a stupendous deal at $15/bottle.
